This was the first novel that I have read by this author and I have to say I greatly enjoyed it. This is a young adult novel but touches first love and a second chance at love wonderfully. From the blurb you can tell that there is so much more to this story then just two teens who fall in love. Crispin and Jenna find true love at 14 and hold fast to it. But like any good love story they are torn apart by things that are out of their control. Fast forward two years and they are thrown back together by fate. I have to say that I enjoyed that the author did not just have them pick back up were they left off. That although they are both very much in love with one another, it has been two years since they have been together and they have changed. Both Jenna and Crispin have to relearn who the other is as well as over come a few challenges that block their future together.
Yes there were a few times I felt the story was a little forced but that didn't get in the way of me really enjoying it. I also would like to know more about these two and how there future played out, but that is just me hating for a good story to come to an end. I think if your in the mood for a lighter story, one that has two sweet characters that are trying to make a young marriage work then this is the story for you.
