Mad Love by Shana Vanterpool is a very emotional love story, not just romantic love but friendship and family. Klayton owns a tattoo and piercing parlour and his friend and employee Cat brings Madison to him for help. Madison has just escaped a horrific abduction and Klayton, a very angry individual who always puts up a front, seems to be the only person who can get through to her, no matter how small it may seem. The relationship that builds between them was so touching and brought a tear to my eye more than once. Madison is able to help Klayton learn how to care for someone, a very foreign concept as he doesn't even really care about himself. Klayton becomes so in tune with Madison that he literally breaks whenever she does. It's his reaction to her initial breakdown that Madison begins a very slow healing process. I found that Klayton and Madison were the definition of what I consider true love to be: completely accepting and unconditional. If I could give this book any more stars it would have it.

Romance author, coffee drinker, and bad boy aficionado. Every second not spent breathing is an opportunity to write and read.
