After graduating MIT Violet King thought she had the perfect plan for life; start software company, marry boyfriend, have babies live happily ever after. Violet thought wrong. Four years later she is tired of her waitressing jobs and is convinced to take a chance. She goes off to London to get a new perspective on life. With the help of her family friend, Violet finds a job as an administrative assistant in a law firm. She is excited to do something new and finds that she has a knack for it. The only draw back is the constant distraction from one Mr. A. Knightly.
Tall, good-looking, fit and with that British accent how could Violet not be attracted to the surly lawyer that she is assigned to assist. Knightly has never let anything or anyone distract him from his practice. He planned his life around working in chambers and forgot how to live. Until on smart-mouth beautiful American comes in and turns his structured world upside down. Now Knightly and Violet must see if it’s just a physical attraction, or is there something more to what is going on. Will they be able to break out of the typical planned out life and live in the moment or is their relationship doomed?
The British Knight by Louise Bay is a wonderful romance story set in the beautiful and fast paced city of London. Violet is a strong female character that is smart and resilient and has conviction once her mind is made up. Knightly is a male character that is lost in the world of work. He is handsome and strong and very creative in both the bed and law chambers. This is a great romance story that has some great banter and panty-dropping sex. I give The British Knight five stars and will be waiting to see what else Louise Bay has in store in the future.
